Understanding Surgery: 

It can at times be a difficult time when a pet needs to come in for a surgical procedure. At Barrie Animal Hospital, we want you to feel confident and secure in your choice to have us help take care of your very important family member. Our veterinary surgeons are equipped and experienced to perform different routine procedures such as spays and neuters. We are also able to perform fracture & cruciate repairs, and orthopedic surgical procedures. We always strive for the best possible outcome for your pet(s) and that is why all surgeries are performed using safe anaesthetic and are monitored appropriately throughout the whole procedure. What to Expect:

Prior to your pets procedure we will perform a wellness exam that may also include pre surgical blood work dependent on factors such as your pets age and medical history. A registered Vet technician will remain with your pet throughout the entirety of the procedure monitoring their vitals and recovery afterwards to ensure a safe and healthy recovery. We also provide detailed after care instructions and what to expect for when you come to take home your pet.
